A Teacher Trek tour will save you money. Airlines and hotels offer discounted rates for group travel. Teacher Treks passes those savings on to you.

I am coming alone on this tour. Will I be the only one traveling alone?

Absolutely not. Many participants come by themselves. Teacher Treks offers not only exciting travel opportunities, but also camaraderie. You will meet other classroom teachers and friends that share your interest in experiencing other cultures. If other singles are available Teacher Treks will help match up roommates.

What if I am not a teacher? Can I still go?

Of course. Teacher Treks was founded for teachers, but through word of mouth many other people are finding out about, participating in, and enjoying the tours.

Booking your Teacher Trek Tour

How do I make reservations for a Teacher Trek tour?

Teacher Trek space is usually limited, so plan on booking early. Reservations are easily made by phone: Palm Beach 561-202-8059, Tampa/Sarasota 813-567-1206, and Martin 772-286-2454, Mon.-Fri., 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (EDT). Your reservations will be confirmed with a $500 deposit per person. The balance of the tour cost is due by check or money order 90 days prior to the tour departure date.

Do you accept credit cards?

Teacher Treks does not accept credit cards. This keeps tours costs low and saves you money.

What about Teacher Treks. Terms and Conditions?

Upon receipt of initial deposit/s Teacher Treks forwards terms and conditions for the particular trip. Terms and Conditions are effective 7 days after receipt of initial deposit/s. Tour participants must notify Teacher Treks by certified mail within 7 days of deposit date for a full deposit refund.  We are sorry, but deposits received after the published deposit due date cannot be refunded.  Please see Reservations for deposit dates.

Is there a minimum group size for each tour?

Yes, minimum group sizes range from 10 to 25 participants, depending on the tour. Teacher Treks reserves the option of canceling all trips with less than the minimum number of tour participants. In the event of a cancellation due to particpation, all tour participant deposits will be refunded. (See Terms and Conditions for more information).

What about departure taxes, security charges, fuel surcharges and other government fees?

Teacher Treks has no control over these charges.  Any increase will be passed on to tour participants for payment.

Can the itinerary change?

Teacher Treks reserves the right to change the itineraries should weather, emergencies, and other unforeseen events arise.

Preparing for your Tour

Do I need a passport and visa to travel?

You will need a valid passport for travel to all Teacher Trek destinations. Further, your passport cannot have an expiration date within 7 months of your tour dates. Visas are required for US citizens visiting China, Thailand, and Brazil. You will need to purchase a visa for all tours to China and Brazil in advance of your trip. Teacher Treks will supply all information needed to purchase a visa for China and Brazil. At this time visas are not needed for European destinations. Visas for Thailand, Argentina, and Hong Kong are available at the airport upon arrival.

What about travel insurance?

Teacher Treks recommends that you consider travel insurance. We offer you the ability to purchase travel insurance but advise you to shop around for a policy that best meets your needs.

Are immunizations required?

Please contact your physician or local county public health department for immunization requirements and recommendations. Information is available from the US Center for Disease Control website at www.cdc.gov. Tour participants should be in good health and be able to walk without assistance.
